The following chapter is part of a larger film-project entitled Vesuvio, the conception of which inspires a whole series of autonomous movies. The chapter is an extract from Vesuvio-project’s first feature-film, The Childhood, the ten chapters of which will be organized around an experimental section leading us right into the heart of a suburb of Naples. The whole project is introduced by an experimental season consisting of a still-frame prelude, An Announcement, and a modern idyll, Capreae, as well as an audiovisual Anthem, plus coda – Neverland –, which are followed by an essay, Italia, plus fragment – 11July2017 –, and completed by a documentary, Mondragone, preceded by a brief Spot.
